Melatonin is a hormone that your brain produces in response to darkness. It helps with the timing of your circadian rhythms (24-hour internal clock) and with sleep. Being exposed to light at night can block melatonin production.
If its poison its news to me!
Very true. Melatonin is produced by the pineal gland and is what makes us sleepy when night aproaches. When we get older the pineal gland begins to calcify in some people where it produces much less melatonin. The result is that people will have trouble sleeping because of higher seratonin levels in the blood. The solution to that problem is to use cheap melatonin not some expensive big Pharma drug.
