What Does Israel Mean? Israel is traditionally a Hebrew name and has biblical roots. The name Israel has several meanings that are all reasonably similar. Israel means “fighter of God,” “triumphant with God,” “God contended,” or “Wrestles with God.” (1).
Another more general meaning of this Hebrew name is “one who struggles with God.” Some people also associate the meaning of the name with the country of Israel.

The one I like is triumphant with God
Revelation 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
In the breaking of the seals Jesus Christ is being revealed in the life of the saint. The book of God is being opened by Jesus Christ.
144,000 is symbolic of perfect government.
Israel is symbolic of perfection as well, it is not about a nation of people, it is about a people governed by God.
Sealed in the forehead is following perfect government, Jesus Christ is the head of the body.
The 144,000 is symbolic of perfect government that follows Jesus Christ withersoever he goes, that is perfect government.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
We who follow Jesus withersoever he goeth are sealed in our foreheads and we follow perfect government only.
Having a new set of thoughts for saving Israel for last.
What are your old thoughts?
More literal, as in dealing with the country. Not saying I have changed my thinking at this point, but your post expanded my thinking on something I have missed along the way of my own consideration of potential meanings.
Very cool.
I read the whole book as spiritual in meaning, every bit is symbolism of spiritual reality.
It's refreshing to me as I ignored Revelation for 4 decades because it did not make physical sense to me.
I should read it as an adult now, I am sure it will take on a new meaning and inspiration. Your post makes me wonder what Q really meant as I stated in my fist post, and other things come too mind like dual meaning and expand your thinking…. Gets the noggin jogging…
