You have to realize that many oils are sourced from the same places worldwide. That being said, I personally use many Young Living oils that I have confidence to take internally. For diffusing or topical I gladly use Now Oils because they have an excellent in-house system to test raw materials before and after utilizing...
For quality essential oils I also buy from Dr. Schnaubelt who has a PhD. in Chemistry and runs the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy...he is very well known in his field...his institute has many courses and resources about essential oils. They sell Original Swiss Aromatics and are an excellent source of essential oils.
Also, Robert Tisserand wrote the definitive book on Essential Oil Safety, and he consults for Plant Therapy which carries reasonably priced essential oils and blends, and they are very careful in helping one to understand essential oil safety and use for all ages...
Also, I buy oils from Tropical Traditions which uses the brand Florihana which are imported from France...this is a quality site for all things natural and I also buy my Gold Label Organic, naturally processed coconut oil from here...which is excellent... along with many other products.
With that being said...there are many other places that sell oils online that are quality distributors of oils...such as Rocky Mountain Oils. I shop between these different sites because very often I am looking for a specific oil and because YL is multi-level their prices are higher than I can get elsewhere for single oils...so I primarily only buy the blends I like from there. I make a lot of my own salves, blends, capsules, cleaning products, air fresheners, etc. and I do spa baths, so I use a lot EO's. I do not use OTC drug items for anything...
My go to book for reference is "Evidence-Based Essential Oil Therapy" by Dr. Scott Johnson...it is a pricey book, but I depend on his suggestions for making capsules and salves and treating all medical conditions. He also has the book divided according to ages and recommended safe oils for babies, children, pregnancy and adults and it is divided into sections of treatment. It is very easy to use and worth its' weight in gold. He also incorporates some homeopathy suggestions.
Good luck finding what you need...don't forget that essential oils are tested, and the results should always be available.
Thank you so very much. I’m trying to do exactly what you do with soaps, salves, cleaners, herbal remedy for any issues that come up. We have generally been feeling more healthy since we started this a year or so ago. I found out that with the oils in particular, it is not like buying baking soda or vinegar. Brands vary wildly. I appreciate your help.
