Long term vs short term. Plenty of people don't have long term goals, because they're stuck in the short term: gotta make rent, buy groceries, get gas. Add some young kids in the mix, and you're thinking of survival. Living without goals, but still living!!
Is it bad just to hold on? No, because things clear up one day. I'm (age redacted) and things literally cleared up for me 9 days ago. So I broke out all my wish lists that I wrote in frustration over the last XX years, and I'm going to make them happen now. And then make my own goals, which I've never thought about. If you hang in there, maybe you'll reach this point too. It feels AWESOME.
