Very few phones have a removable battery anymore, so you don't really "turn it off".

I recall reading that because of a ruling in the EU phones are going to have to start being manufactured with a user removeable battery soon. More than likely just to keep costs down, we will also get these phones when they become available. https://www.pcmag.com/news/eu-smartphones-must-have-user-replaceable-batteries-by-2027
