Bishop Strickland reaffirms that unrepentant homosexuals, adulterers cannot receive Communion - LifeSite
Bishop Strickland warns in a new letter that the Church cannot offer Communion to people who persist in grave sin, including homosexuality, adultery, contraception use, other sexual impurity, abortion, and living as the opposite sex.
Let’s be clear here, thanks for taking a stand against the gays but we’re not really talking about communion. We’re talking about catholic communion…
He's pretty much one of the only American Bishops that are really speaking out publicly against this menace. And the fact that anti-pope Bergoglio wants to cancel him is infuriating for many American Catholics. Imagine if your favorite pastor got cancelled/arrested.
I struggle in this way - I view Catholicism as a flawed religion based on power and control. Much like our government with its controlled opposition and 2 party system that seems to simultaneously hate and benefit each other, I fall into the mindset that when I see dissenters belonging to the same powerful group (in this case the Catholic Church) I tend to start by questioning the authenticity of the detractor based on a healthy dose of pessimism.
And then, I think to myself, is that what the bad guys want you to do and that’s how they silence the truly good people that exist in their ranks?
And then I get tired and fall asleep and forget I wrote this until I see a red dot indicating someone smarter than me replied back with a common sense answer and I hover over the delete button but leave whatever comment I placed as my penance lol
