An EpiPen is only meant to buy you enough extra time to get to a hospital for actual treatment while you are currently choking out due to Anaphylaxis. What an absolutely retarded comment.
Not to mention that most people don't have them lying around their house
Anaphylaxis is the very allergic reaction he was referring to.
I know he was. The Epipen doesn't necessarily stop anaphylaxis. It's just enough to relieve symptoms so you can survive until hospitalisation. It's not easily addressed with an epipen. It's addressed with a costly and time consuming trip to ER.
