In all fairness, a very bright light source in the dark screws up any photo pretty easily. And I say this as a photographer with very expensive camera/lenses. You have to know what you are doing to get a good shot in bad lighting. I would expect most people shooting a bright source in the dark would get less than prefect results.
With that said, looking at the lights and shadows, this image is weird. You can see the light cast on the house and a large shadow of the head and shoulders, which would indicate it's throwing the light in front of it instead of all around it. But the tree branches indicate it's throwing light above and slightly behind, so I would expect to see shadows of that big tree branch on the house instead. I call fake on this one for sure. Looks like lights were placed behind possibly a cutout with another light off to the left pointed at it's front to get the house shadow, and the "alien" itself was finished in post. Even the light flare is easy to place in post. So yeah, someone placed a light source in the yard, because the plants all indicate where the light source is at, then in photoshop the light source was covered up with this white silhouette and some flare effects. And looks like they ran some extra noise at the end.
