There is a TON of prejudice when it comes to EV's. And the propaganda from the gas industry is hard to break for most here. I have 2 gas-powered cars and 2 EV's. The convenience & simplicity of an EV is really nice. A lot less maintenance & EVs have waaaaay fewer moving parts than a standard combustible engine. Which translates into less shit to go wrong. Go ahead, downvote the hell out of me. It's what you've been programmed to do. Is the tech perfect? No, but it's not the big evil it's being made out to be.

And thrice the number of computers that can go haywire and decide to not go anywhere. Any idiot off the street can wrenchmonkey their engine into moving another mile, I don't foresee many pulling up a dev enviroment to diagnose why the BMS is going bananas and not charging the batteries.
"Any idiot off the street can wrenchmonkey their engine into moving another mile"
That's just not true of most folks these days. I'll concede to your point on the computers though. That may or may not be an issue. Time will tell on that one. Hell, that was the weak point on my wife's Jeep before she got rid of it.
