There was drama after the 2023 Melbourne Cup with top contender Right You Are failing to finish 3200m race.
Jockey John Allen pulled up the gelding with about 400 metres left to go, after the horse choked down during the run.
The seven-year-old galloper was suffering from heat stress and, following the race, was quickly removed from the track and hosed down in a frantic bid to reduce its temperature.
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained horse appeared to be better after it cooled down but during the race it was struggling to breathe.
