I can relate to both sides of this argument. I have 3 beautiful children, stay at home wife, live in a nice house in a nice town. Work my ass off in the engineering/construction industry. I followed the same path my father/mother did. Some of the best advice my dad gave me was right before I had my first child…”son your life will no longer be about you. Accept that now. It’ll toughen your spirit and mind for the battle that lies ahead. Your top priority must always be to provide for your wife and children no matter what you may feel. There will be hard mornings and days where you feel like a machine. But understand that through your selflessness your heart will be rewarded in ways that only the love of a family can bring….and that’s what makes it all worth it”
