Diamonds are super common bullshit either way. Probably the most controlled market in the world other than central banks. China has mega factories where they can make thousands if not millions and also there is little regulation to verify real vs man made diamonds and no one really cares.
Of all the stones, they're the least pretty ( personal opinion ). The value is in their hardness. I appreciate them when I'm using a blade that has them for cutting through other materials, but as a gemstone, meh. Other stones have more character and beauty.
Yeah also use in electronics from what I understand.
