Amazing that theres a magical monetary value that allows these people to get a sense of freedom after what they've been doing.

Right? Ok fine you can stay out of jail for now just give us some money, that’s cool.

If someone is not a danger to others or a flight risk let them out for free. If not, keep them detained. As Arnold said “screw your freedom”. Why is everything so needlessly complicated?
