I have always marveled at the fact that these White Collar Criminal Defense guys are laundered in and out of DOJ so they can then cut deals with their former colleagues for their criminal clients.
Has anyone ever also noticed that the most "criminally" fined banks and Big Pharma companies (Pfizer) never seem to have an actual person that serves time? What does it even mean to "criminally" fine a corporation? They always do the math and the answer to the "was it worth it?" question, is usually "yes, we're still in the green." Add to that the bankers and their "mortgage servicing arms" that swindled millions out of their homes by conducting illegal foreclosures. As soon as Price Waterhouse Coopers outlined the audit that was going to take place, banks like Citi "settled" for $350,000,000, a pittance compared to what they took.
