A few years ago, working in a college town, it was common to see a foreigner once a week or so who spoke English. A year ago, it became noticeable that there were families who could barely speak English(“Hello”, “Yes”, “Thank you”) about once a week. Now, we see families (only Spanish speaking at this point) nearly every day. It’s a relatively larger town in the scope of the rural landscape but still a somewhat insignificant region compared to say, Chicago. It’s wild. They are being transported literally everywhere.

This is just as big an issue in remote areas such as Brewster county Texas —- different cartel but same issues all along the border to Brownsville
