Ninevah was the city that God wanted Jonah to go and preach to the people. At the time, Ninevah was a very evil city and so Jonah did not want to go and so headed in the opposite direction. This is how he ended up in the whales mouth, and after surviving and being spit out, he then went to Ninevah to preach.
Yes. He did. The great news is, Ninevah repented and so God spared the city.
Yes, it is wonderful. And God will spare us too.
