I advise all younger frens to learn basic mechanical skills if you don't already have them. And get some basic tools.
In the right conditions, it can literally save your life, but most of the time it will just save you money.
I learn medical skills. Mechanical, oh well, too late now.
It would be cool if there was some way for frens to do basic skill exchanges.
Someone once said "specialization is for insects" and there is some truth in that.
That's what we are doing here in the Midwest. Neighbor trade things now. I provide medicines and information in trade for mechanical. Of course food always help.
