Completely agree. They call it "spell"-ing because language casts a spell. T. McKenna called language the original virtual reality, or maybe now we would call it augmented reality. It casts an illusory veil over all of reality and pretends to be the reality it is covering. This distorts and hides many things, such as the interrconnectedness between seemingly unrelated ideas or categories. I have been wondering lately if that abc TV show Once Upon a Time was doing a kind of soft disclosure with their idea of the evil queen having cast a spell over the entire land that made the folks in town believe they were in modern times...
