I'm a former art student and we were being heavily coerced to accept and make installation art, to write thesis on "why this IS art" and not allowed to have our own opinion on what we thought about it. We had to accept old piles of crap as art, and if you did not, then that's because you "did not get it" and must be a dumb sheep....
