Way back in Nlovember 1966 "Stills" (I'm not sure if that is the Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash, but I suspect that it is) wrote a song called "For What It's Worth" in a band called Buffalo Springfield. He was responding to a protest that had turned violent following the closing of the Pandora's Box nightclub on Sunset Strip. I don't know how to create a link to that song but if someone could post a link so that EVERYONE can hear Stills message, that would make this post complete. So help me out here Anons. I encourage every Anon who comes to this board today to take the time to play the song and listen to the lyrics because they could have been written while someone was observing the recent campus protests. I swear it is amazing that this is the song God wanted me to play this morning instead of my usual Christian music.
So let's keep a count of how many people actually respond when asked to do so. I'll be number one. Now who gets the unfortunate distinguishment of being #2?
If anyone knows a moderator, perhaps it should be pinned at the top like it was the first post of the day, all day, every day until we reach we at least ????? which will always reduce to the number 7.
The name Trump will always and forever vibrate to the number 7. The qualities of the number 7 is complete but not yet whole (the number 9 means whole - you have done it - you have won and that my friends is exactly where we are and in order to get to the number 9, we have to work a rather long and twisting path thru the number 8 which is infinity.
So let's see who all is paying attention. Post your "screen name" (whatever the fuck that is as I still don't understand the fucking difference between a username AND a screen name. Can anybody tell me what the fuck a "screen name is".
And with that I leave the challenge open. Unless the mods think that will give the demoncraps an idea of how many of us there are and don't want to release that information, but I say THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE FUCKING BEEN WAITING FOR - IT IS NOW OR FUCKING NEVER.
You could certainly have a college course on Laurel Canyon. One thing in common of all those musicians from laurel canyon is their high ranking military industrial complex parents. I fell for it, as I am an anti-war old hippie to this day. As a result, I raised children who likely would not be able to handle being at war like their grandfather did. Dare I say I raised 2 snowflakes? Maybe. It doesn't make me love them any less, but I may worry about them more. Only today looking back, can I see the psy-op part of it.
and then again...how many teens and young adults REBELLED against their parents...especially in the 60s.
I can't imagine any. I think we all rebelled in some fashion that we felt relatively safe doing without getting kicked out of the house; but you are right, the 60s changed everything. Those were the true hippies; everything else was just a copy IMO.
Agree. I too am an ole hippie lady. Hippies aren't what most people picture; kinda like being MAGA. Hippies just want to be left alone to live free. They don't make a big deal of what they are doing. As opposed to HINOs who wear all the right stuff, do all the right things and then they want the world to know that they are hippies, like it is a badge to wear.
I don't think you raised two snowflakes. They are out checking out their boundaries and when they see the horror on the other side of the fence, they will be home where they always felt safe. So let them spread their wings and always be there for them to come home to. Stop beating yourself up; you dun good and the end you never once said "I think I'm going to screw up parenting and thus screw up my children." I'm sure you always did your best, as most parents do.
