Lab 257 was a United States biological warfare research facility located on Plum Island and sits at the center of controversial claims involving the dissemination of Lyme Disease via lab-escaped ticks.

Ticks are a vector for a bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi (named after Willy Begdorfer, the Swiss-American scientist mentioned in Tuckers video, shown at 8:42.) which is responsible for Lyme Disease. Lyme disease is associated with a plethora of psychological disorders including but not limited to, hallucinations, paranoia, schizophrenia, and memory impairment.
