Exactly.

Ireland uses PR system, so it's easier for new parties / independents to make a dent.

UK has a cosy 2 party system (the original model) going for centuries. 2 side of the same coin, a simple front for the civil service.

Sticking to the UK traditions of taxation without representation. Which never worked for the people in the past or present. So we already know how it will work in the future.
