A simple demonstration. It may seem obvious, but humour me :)

'We' are like the 'flame'. We appear to have form and substance, but on closer inspection, are mostly just hot air :)
Just as the flame appears solid with a clearly defined existence, so we appear.
A flame casts no shadow
Just a flame is luminous, radiating light, dispelling 'shadow'
So we are able when we radiate compassion, love, truth.
People will say, 'but the only reason you can see a shadow at all is that there is a greater light source illuminating the room that the match/flame is in'
Yes, of course
and so too is the illumination provided by a candle, a spotlight, the sun, etc
It is not the light itself
It is the potential for luminosity
and so we can either be like a candle, a spotlight, the sun, etc, according to our current ability to emit 'light'
It's okay to be a candle :)
We do not have to understand it all or know everything.
we do not have to be 'perfect', in fact we can never be.
what we can do is to be a point of light, from which the 'true light' radiates, luminosity itself.
Itself devoid of form or substance.
1 Corinthians 13:12 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
To this path, through God's infinite wisdom, love and mercy, we are called For each of us, imperfect as we are, to radiate God's light You may not be a spotlight, or the sun but you can be a candle. that is enough, more than enough You are enough, you are capable God bless you all :)
