I'm no scientist, but I am a human bean. There was once a global ice age (and that was not the first global shift) that "for some reason" melted... this was before combustion engines were even thought of --- AND those "fossil fuels" weren't even fossils YET... the ice melting occurred, so much so that the Great Lakes were formed, along with many islands around the world. Might this have also corresponded with, like, a polar shift? Hmmmm.
Yeah the Earth was covered with ice and then it quickly melted...coulda been a polar shift, could have been a massive solar ejection (CME), could have been a meteor impact, a supermassive volcano, a crustal displacement, a tidal wave, a flood... or all of them at once ;)
Even wonder why there's no evidence of human civilization from before 10,000 BC? Maybe there's a reason.
Gotta check out some Randall Carlson he's great at talking about that time period, the Younger Dryas (ending of the last Ice Age)
