Agreed.. my Applewood recipe got the Hickory chips I had convenient. And, it sure as hell didn't complain about it.

Don't care for applewood anyway, but pecan is interesting for some things.

I'm convinced that Applewood is meant for turkey.. It's incredible what you can do with a turkey in a smoker. I even tried a spicy brisket rub recipe with a turkey and people were crying while eating it saying they couldn't stop and wanted more..

Or.. Applewood with beer can chicken.. homer drools...
