Addiction is a huge problem for societies around the world. But the narrative can change this too. Remember when there was a campaign to stop cigarette smoking? It worked well. Also the Women's Christian Temperance Union cut down the US alcoholism rate from 25% to 10%. I think Covid increased addictions.

I think it's our modern way of life. Technology addiction, less third spaces, everything being expensive. You can't really just hang out anymore.
