My commie state asked me for my address & name to make sure it matched but no ID. Hopefully that changes in 2028.
Illinois is chock full of political dumbasses, I have witnessed firsthand for many years now. Most of the savy people have moved out but we don't want to move away from our daughter and granddaughter,
Family, having to sell your house while buying in another state, and having a niche career are all roadblocks. Pretty much everyone I know who's already left either were retired or had an easily portable job and not all of them had a house to sell just a lease to run out or break.
Yeah when I went back in early October I didn't see them doing it but my wife went last weekend and when she mentioned them checking her signature against her ID I was very surprised to hear it. Maybe they did check mine against something on the screen but were so fast that I didn't notice, they definitely didn't care to look at my ID though.
They are afraid of too many cheaters to turn it red. Lol.
