I will say it till i'm blue in the face, everyone of you have your dna on file with the gov since you were born. no one needed to wait for 23 and me to get their hands on your dna. at least 23 and me provided an actual service that helped people, but you got nothing in exchange for hospitals collecting your dna and handing it off to the government the day you were born. So stop thinking your dna is protected, it's not, never was.
Well, if we're looking along those lines, the 3 letter agencies could easily have ties into companies like Quest Diagnostics and the other med labs that are used by just about all of the medical industry it would be an easy tie in. There is no way to protect from them getting your dna, thru nefarious means, unless you never get any lab work performed or surgeries.
The easiest way for them to do it "above board" will be to buy out that database when the company chapters out.
My point is they don't need to do any of that, every baby born in a hospital in the usa for the last several generations have had their blood collected through the pku test and it is picked up and taken to a government facility in each state where it is held forever and used for "research". Try calling and demanding they destroy your sample on file, it's almost impossible. They don't need these companies to collect your dna because they already have it, they've always had it and they'll have it long after you are dead. They have everyone you've ever known. People are so busy thinking up conspiracy theories around the services offered to the public that they are completely blind to the actual real conspiracy that has been going on long before you were even born.
Valid point and much more invasive than my point.
Unless your mom was smart enough to homebirth and avoid the pku at all costs, like my kids' mom and my that i mean me.
