That's not what happened here. It was not by chance. The Twitter thread posted above says

Gaetz and Greenberg were in Miami together when they ran into Stone. We know this because Greenberg paid for a fancy hotel with taxpayer money.

There's also a selfie of Gaetz and Greenberg on the White House lawn in 2019.

There were already a lot of stories from back in 2020 and 2021 when this came out about how they met. Basically they were both elected in 2016 and became part of a Seminole County Republican clique.

Gaetz pushed Greenberg as a possible congressman in 2017 on a Florida radio show.

But Gaetz is a Rep. in the panhandle, a long way from Orlando... not that they couldn't have met somewhere along the way, just seems fishy that a local politician in central FL would be hobnobbing with a US Congressman who's district is in the western panhandle.
