Orthodox Nativity is on 12/25, but we use the Julian calendar, which equals January 7th in the Gregorian calendar. Another twelve days before the real date of Nativity. So this little act was for the West, not for the Orthodox. Even so, it is very blasphemous and ugly.
Thank you! I scrolled all the way down to see if anyone picked up on this. The eve of Orthodox Christmas is January 6th. Definitely for the West.
