What are you drinking? Iceland had a clearly-defined political subordination to Denmark / Norway far before anyone came to colonize America. Neither of these places could ever have been American territory in any political sense.

Kicking the climate change hoax aside doesn't mean it is feasible to "melt its ice" by technological means, or that it would be a good idea to do so.
