It has worked well for me. The key, for me anyway, is early intervention. At the slightest hint of sore throat - I take it. Knocks stuff out fast. Not exactly pleasant to use, but I actually don’t mind it. Many don’t like it though - too ‘hot’ under the tongue.
I basically follow the package instructions - depending on brand and strength of carvacrol ( active compound).
I take a few drops under the tongue at symptom onset. Maintenance daily as needed until symptoms are gone. Not for the faint of heart though. This stuff can be very hot - don’t let it hit your taste buds.
Gel caps are available too if you don’t like the sublingual.
