It's the context. If someone says 86 that pile of wood,it would mean to toss it away.
86ing a person is to kill them.
I always was told that 86 meant "dispose of". Such as something is bad, 86 it.
When I was a server a long time ago 86 meant something was gone. He's saying dispose of trump.
