It’s over 500k. You have to look at it on a desktop. It tells you along the header how many indictments there are, how many are sealed and unsealed. You can click on it and go to any state and look up the dockets, although any sealed cases say just that-sealed. You can see when they were filed, though. This has been going on for a long time now. I can’t wait for the unsealing to begin.
A federal sealed indictment is a formal accusation of a crime that is kept confidential from the public and the accused until a specific event, such as an arrest, occurs. This secrecy helps protect ongoing investigations, witnesses, and the integrity of the judicial process.
Before President Trump became President in 2016, the average number of sealed indictments averaged around 1000 at any time. People started noticing when it increased to around 4000 and knew this was not the normal. Since then, it has continued to increase to the extreme number that it is now. This tells us that there are a lot of people doing a lot of work behind the scenes.
A sealed indictment means that the case against them has already been investigated and presented to a grand jury that has agreed that charges against them are justified. This has always been the case when dealing with fugitives. The case had already been investigated but until the fugitive was caught, it was a sealed indictment. Once they were caught, the indictment was unsealed. A sealed indictment could be against anyone. One sealed indictment could be against one person, a group or organization, or a company. Yes, it grew during the Biden administration.
These sealed indictments are not necessarily all fugitives that can’t be found. Historically, that has usually been the case as to why an indictment is sealed. However, these are probably a mixture of fugitives and some people that they just may be waiting until the time is right. As far as your question, for what? You name it. Too many crimes to mention!!!
I agree and we have all been hoping that many of these sealed indictments are against all ones you mentioned. I’m Looking so forward to watching them get unsealed!!
