Free speech protections in the first amendment is to protect you from the government. I oppose all actions the government takes against people for what they say. Even for the assholes that go 'oh, I'm so glad' - the government should not take action on the basis of that speech alone -- unless you have a clause in your employment contract that dictates public behavior.

PEOPLE are not bound by the first amendment. They are not required to tolerate you and, once you cross their threshold of tolerance, are not bound to take no action against you. They can contact your boss and advocate for your termination if they so chose to.

Just like the left didn't care about the first amendment when they canceled the CEO of Mozilla in 2010 for donating 1,000 to preserve traditional marriage, so now you don't get to hide in it when the same happens to you.

And for the record Arch was heavily canceled back during GamerGate so it's unsurprising that he's been running out of F's to give.

Free speech was first given as the right to speak truth.

The 1st amendment is the religious amendment. The right to speak it, publish it and assemble around it. It was never meant to allow people to publicly lie or mislead the public. The fact that a residual effect of that freedom is people who have false Gods will abuse it. When tjey do we must remedy the lies.

They are not losing their jobs for criticizing him, but for justifying his being murdered!
