I checked other sources too, just to verify. The bill has 48 co-sponsors and Cornyn is one of them. Mike Lee introduced it. I don’t have a list of the other co-sponsors. I haven’t checked to see if Rand Paul is against it or not.
Edit: If Thune decides to make the democrats work for it, here are the rules. Each senator opposing gets unlimited time, but no breaks for any reason, no leaning on the podium, no sitting. Each senator can also speak on 2 separate occasions. Once each has spoken twice, it’s over, take the vote and it’s done. So, at most they can drag it out, but Thune has to make the call to do it.

I’m not a Cornyn fan and really did expect what you posted to be true. I’m voting for Paxton in the primaries because I can’t stand Cornyn for the reasons you listed and more. But I try to verify before I post something. Just because I don’t like Cornyn doesn’t mean he’s against the SAVE act. Is it possible that he is a co-sponsor of the SAVE act just to garner votes? Sure. Is he likely to turn on Trump in the future? Probably. But, to say that he’s not a supporter when he co-sponsored the bill is not accurate.

Now does it carry any water that he co-sponsored the Save Act when he know all his previous actions have placed him in President Trumps and Paxton cites... hell no, desperate units will pretend about anything.
