Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly... A trip code is a unique identifier set by Q on 8kun in order to ensure the Q posts are not from someone falsely claiming to be Q. Is that correct?
You are correct. Any poster can choose a password when making their first post, which allows them to continue posting using the same tripcode. Q has changed tripcodes several times for security, each time providing the new tripcode under the old one first.

Correct.....and Trip codes have been change numerous times. Typically Q will post that they are about to change Trip code, then post on new code so all can follow.
Thanks for this. Between your response and SirThunder's, things are much clearer re the trip code. I'll have to start paying attention to see if/when/how often the code gets mimicked or included in President Trump's tweets.
