Ya, the MAC for nitrous oxide is like 104. I have seen people fall asleep at levels or around 70-80% although it would not be considered a general anesthetic, more of a moderate-deep sedation from which the patient can be easily aroused. You need over 100% to get general anesthetic, which means they won't get any oxygen and they will turn blue and die. Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon here. A bit of sevoflurane would work much better.
