Mods. I am a new user from Voat and my first time user experience was a little bumpy. If you wanted to make the UI easier for users, here’s what I recommend.

story 1

• As a user, I want to know what articles I had read already, in order to make it easy to find the ones I haven’t read yet.
• When I click on a post, if I view it and return to the list view of posts (home page), then the post I viewed is clearly visually indicated that it was viewed (change color, mark ad read, etc)

story 2

• As a user, I want to get back to the list view (home) easily from the post page, in order to go back from list view to post page and post page to list view were I left off.
• When I am on the list view, if I scroll down to the 10th post and click on it, then the post view shows up and I can see an easy return UI call to action that returns me to the list view.
• When I am on the list view, if I scroll down to the 12th post and click on it, then the post view shows up and if I click on the CTA to return to the list view, I return scrolled down to the 12th post position where I entered from.
• When I am on the list view, if I change the list view from showing “hot” to “new” and I click on a post and I click on the CTA to return to the list view, not only will I return back to where I scrolled position but also in the same filtered view, in this case “new.”
• When I entered a post from the list view, if I successfully loaded the post view and I return back to the list view, then the post that I just viewed, shown in the list, is now collapsed and clearly indicates that I have read this post.

If you want more I can do some more. But those are the main issues. The only other visual hiccup that I had as a new user is on the list view, it’s not easy to understand where a new post starts and stops because some posts have comments below and others do not. So, some clear indicator of the separation of the posts in the list view would be great.

And on the post page, I clicked on it to read it and the comments defaulted collapsed so I felt like I went to something else. Instead if I’m in the list view and I see the post and comments, I should see the post and comment as well when I enter the post page.
