@zerogravitycrayon, please let me riff off of your illustration. Just as we must put down every burden and prioritize escape with our loved ones from a death trap (and THANK YOU for that imagery), so also must we put down every/any idol if we're going into the Kingdom of Heaven.
"There are no Idols in The Kingdom." The K.O.H. must be FIRST in our priorities 1) because we have been invited in by our Lord and 2) because entering into the K.O.H. is (at least partly) escaping from a burning house. Yes, we must remain in this world but also, be not of it. Being 'not of this world' could be thought of as "having escaped". However, there is NO ENTRY into the K.O.H. if we insist on clinging to idols. Idolatry is not compatible with The Kingdom.
(pssst: BIG secret - don't tell anyone - The Kingdom of Heaven is the NEW Garden of Eden and we've been INVITED!! Shhhh! Jesus is the ENTRY into the K.O.H.! Awww, you already knew that... oh, well.)
"There is no Righteousness, save that of the King..." His Kingdom, His rules. His dress-code. Want to live in His Kingdom? Choose to live by His rules. AND, most important: Let HIM dress you like you're s'posed to be dressed (His righteousness is humble but VERY becoming - best fitting clothes, EVER!) Pro-Tip: "You really, REALLY DO want to live in His Kingdom. Everywhere else is a burning house..."
THANK YOU for sharing the important "burning house" imagery with us! You triggered me to remember some stuff from long ago.
AND, here's a song that may or may not be relevant. GBY, PEDES! THANKS, AGAIN, zerogravitycrayon!! Skip the ads Burning House
