Excellent point - We need to ensure it isn't used to enact more freedom-eroding technology. Frankly, the technology aspect is my biggest concern because I still see too many people who don't consider it a threat.

Along with that, people like Gates, Omidyar and Soros are very vocal about protecting privacy - like this is a positive thing. No - the problem is that the "privacy" argument is based on the assumption that they own our data in the first place. See how they do that? They skip the primary step - which is why our data is being shared in the first place. Buying into their "privacy" narrative immediately places us on their game board. We need to go back to square one regarding data collection and sharing period.
