When ever I would take vacation and show up at my parents, my mom and dad would ask, "what are you doing here in the middle of the week". When I explained that I was taking some vacations days they would always say, "Are you sure you shouldn't be down there working". My dad I don't think ever took a vacation day in his life, it was a foreign concept.
I worked for my dad for two years out of high school. Our normal day was from 08:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day except Saturday which was 8 - 6. Sunday was a day of church, and rest.
