To play devil's advocate here, the same concept could apply to President Trump as a whole: the establishment "fake attacking" Trump in order to give him artificial credibility among his supporters. Don't get me wrong; I love and support Trump 100%, and I do believe that the establishment would NOT be going this hard against Trump if he weren't legitimate. But if Alex Jones is being considered "controlled opposition", then the same idea could THEORETICALLY apply to Trump as well.
