As to the first question: No, Orthodoxy is trying to "keep things the way they were in exile in Europe" i.e. "the messiah hasn't arrived, therefore we must stay avoidant of secular society and keep doing our thing".

The original sect? Who knows. If you read the book of Samuel you realize that God desires liberty and that the early hebrew were attempting libertarianism, but this has changed even during biblical times, as the jews wanted a king and Samuel gave them one. Many other early mutations of the faith.

Also keep in mind that Judaism comes from the word Judah, the kingdom of Judah which is in contrast to the kingdom of Israel, whereas the bible speaks about both.

Also in ancient times there were the pharisees which corrupted the law, and which are precursors of the breakaway from scripture towards interpretation. Talmud, Kabbalism stemmed from that, and later Sabbatean Frankism from Kabbalah. But there were always sects and individuals which opposed intellectual authoritarianism.

We're just sheep being fed mumbo jumbo at this point. Reading the scriptures doesn't help counteract the brainwashing. The only solution for jews is a major psyop which I believe Q is planning.

The catharsis among jews. It's going to be biblical.
