I'm a DC lawyer and I wouldn't do what you did for the exact same reasons you got called off and then some.
- You're soliciting private info, typical glow actions
- You're violating legal ethics by soliciting work from possible clients
- These charges are going to be DC nexus and purely federal. Are you going to fly to DC and work pro bono for pedes in DC superior court?
If you wanted to help, you would make a checklist of best practices if feds show up.
Not only did you glow, you were doing things that would get you a bar reprimand even if we weren't political targets.
