Does anyone wonder if we really have 20-30,000 troops in DC right now? Watching flight trackers does seem to indicate it, or at a minimum indicate a crap ton of cargo planes have headed there. But I just can't see how they could stand up, house, and feed that many people that quickly without more signs or indications of additional logistics and facilities having been prepped. Its not like they're planning on having 20,000 just sitting on the ground in the capital eating takeout. I keep seeing the phrase that they've been "authorized" to send that many troops, but I can't help but wonder if there are fewer there than the numbers being thrown around and they're just kind of making a big show to try and make it appear bigger. Not denying its still not an unprecedented number of troops on the ground. Just not sure its 20-30k at the moment. If there really is 20k+ there its gotta be for more than just inauguration protection. Also as a means of comparison, the invasion of Haiti involved 25,000 troops.
