God is perfectly just and holy. He's not who you've made Him out to be. Sin is 100% unacceptable to God. Jesus said if you even lust after a woman you've committed adultery with her in your heart. He requires perfection. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Adam's and Eve's eyes were blind to sin until they disobeyed by eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This is when sin entered the world and this is when bad things started to happen to good people.

I can't give you a scientific answer to your question about where pestilence comes from but there are no "good" people. (https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-3-10/) God doesn't judge us based on our perception of good: someone that does mostly nice things and has no heinous crimes under their belt.

Consider this also. Humanity murders 10s of millions of babies in their mothers' wombs yearly and that number is only increasing! Did those babies deserve to be killed? Of course not. Do you expect God to cause the mothers of those babies to be somehow blocked from walking through the door of an abortion clinic to stop them from committing such a horrible act? I suspect you don't so why do you simultaneously expect God to prevent someone you have deemed "good" to not get sick?

Most of us thought Pence was a good guy. We all learned the truth. We didn't know what was in his heart.

if Jesus says we commit adultery with just our thoughts how can you determine who is "good" by looking at their outward self?

God's ways are not our ways. Ask Him to open your eyes.

edit: That's strange. The guy just deleted his whole account.
