The Continental Color Guard Drum Major is SUPPOSED TO salute in that manner. And the hats......wind. A friend of mine who is still there confirmed that A Company guys don’t use chin straps and lost hats to the wind. FDC uses chin straps and lost zero. I was in this very unit 1980-83 and did President Reagan’s inaugural. Quit getting spun-up over nothing and do something productive....like actually researching this stuff before posting.
