Yeah everybody called it 'QAnon" at first. Just like we called all previous 4chan whistleblowers: WhiteHouseAnon, FBIAnon, etc.
Q, like everybody else on the chans, is anonymous, and therefore an 'anon'.
QAnon is the label WE gave to them.
Referring to them as QAnon is normal chan-speak.

They do sign their posts with just Q or Q+ so they prefer that moniker I guess. But referring to them as QAnon is normal chan-speak.
