I think it's disingenuous to clump everyone above 75 into the same group and to denote a fatality rate. Serves to promote fear. The number is inflated because it includes the IFR of people well over that age group of mid-seventies, who are less numerous overall - without taking population proportion into consideration. Same reason they cut it off at "mid seventies" without including those in the early seventies. The numbers weren't as scary.
